Two years ago, I saw the Frank Oz directed British comedice masterpiece Death at a Funeral. It was such an amazing film (as are all directed by the voice of Yoda – yes THAT Frank Oz).

Now, two years later, through the travesty miracle of the movies comes a remake. Gone are the British protagonists and in are Black comedians. Out is the dry wit and in is with the usual Americana slapstick schtick. A lot of heavies are in the remake: Chris Rock, Martin Lawrence, Zoe Saldana, Danny Glover. Thankfully, Peter Linklage replays his character from the original. Check it out:

Here is the original British Trailer. I LOVE this movie. I honestly don’t understand the need for an immediate remake, but that’s Hollywood, I guess. Do you really think a remake was necessary?
